Objective of Scholarship

The main objective of L’Oréal India for Young Women is to create an appropriate environment for young women who cannot continue their education due to a range of current problems. This award is only available to students who are currently enrolled in a scientific bachelor’s program and are struggling to cover their tuition. L’Oréal India offers this scholarship to encourage and support young women who choose to pursue science in college. The program has consistently supported young women seeking study in a variety of scientific disciplines since its launch in 2003. L’Oréal India For Young Women In Science Scholarships (UG Students)

The L’Oréal India For Young Women In Science Scholarships (UG) has been made available to female students who want to pursue a UG degree. Candidates must have finished the Science course in Class 12 (PCM/PCB/PCMB). This award is only available to female students. In Class 12, candidates must have earned at least 85% of the eligible points. The candidates’ family income must be less than INR 6,000,000 per year. Regardless of the year, the candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree in a science-related field. Students from all throughout India are eligible to apply. Children who work at L’Oréal India or Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply.

  • Candidates must have completed the Science stream (PCM/PCB/PCMB) in Class 12. 
  • Only female pupils are permitted.

The L’Oréal India for Young Women in Science Scholarships (PG and PhD) are designed for female students who want to pursue doctorate or postgraduate degrees. Post-graduation studies in science, technology, pharmacology, biotechnology, biological sciences, etc., must be pursued by candidates in any year. This award is only available to female students. The candidates’ family income must be less than INR 6,000,000 per year. Students from all throughout India are eligible to apply. Children who work at L’Oréal India or Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply. For the final selection, an admission letter from an Indian university or institution with accreditation is required.

  • The selection of shortlisted candidates from different science streams will be based on merit (board results from Class 10 and 12), family needs, and extracurricular activity (research papers/articles, science prizes, and science projects). The weights of these criteria are up for discussion. 
  • The top-performing students will be selected for two rounds of interactions:
  • Phone chat and final in-person interview with the L’Oreal panel and jury selection committee (hybrid interviews)
